Vernon, B.C. -- The CASCOR Canadian Tire Series returned to oval racing Sunday night at the Sun Valley Speedway.
Jordan Robson and Pete Enegelmanas led the field to the green flag. But with the track's old asphalt and limited grip many drivers were struggling to keep the power down. With 3 cautions coming out early on in the race.
Several drivers seemed to have connection issues making it difficult for the other drivers to race around them. Robson would lead the most laps as Will Goshen would give him a run for his money before the race was called at lap 100.
Robson would hold off the all charges by Goshen to win his 3rd race of the 2011 season. Goshen finishes 2nd, Auz Grams 3rd after being involved in a wreck, Pete Engelmanas had connection issues falling out of the race in 4th and Mike Husby also had connection issues falling out as well but rounded out the top 5.
With this win, Robson is now just 46 points out of the points lead bringing himself back into the title hunt. Julian Madore who was 2nd in points entering the race, fell to 3rd after getting involved in an accident early in the race.
Next week the Canadian Tire Series heads to Edmonton, Alberta for the the 3rd running of the Canadian Tire 100 at the Edmonton Street Course. The past two years have produced 2 different winners. Will we see a 3rd different winner? Find out Sunday August 14th at 8pm est!
