Canadian Ellery takes Montreal

Montreal, Quebec, CA -- The CASCOR Super Car Series headed north of the American border Monday evening to take a break from the typical oval and scheduled an invasion on Circuit Gilles Villeneuve.

Austin Grams started the night off earning his 2nd pole of 2011, winning the pole by over a second and becoming the only driver to run a 1:40. Part-Time road course ringer Austin Penney would start outside to kick off the Napa Auto Parts 100.

23 scheduled laps would be ran caution free as many drivers experienced gearbox issues, many having to give up what was the hoped for win as they attempted to run the track without certain gears. Tyler Ellery's only competition on the night would be Austin Grams who also experienced gearbox issues, ended his chance at a win.

Ellery would dominate the remainder of the race, leading the most laps (13/23) and winning by over 14 seconds! Justin Collison 2nd, points leader Pete Engelmanas 3rd, Grams would struggle but come home 4th with Austin Penney getting his first career top 5.

The series heads to Atlanta for the running of the Bass Pro Shops 150 on Monday, August 29th. Points leader Pete Engelmanas still leads by 40 points over Austin Grams, 80 over 3rd place points holder Mike Husby. Who will leave Atlanta with the advantage? Be there and find out!
