Husby Wins on His Roof @ Gateway!

Madison, IL -- Last Tuesday night the CASCOR THL Truck Series made its return to the Gateway International Raceway in Madison, IL. Last years winner Pete Engelmanas was absent from the race this year, which once again would allow for a new winner at the track.

Mike Husby and Curtis James led the field down to the green flag. Not only would they be the fastest two trucks of the night. But Husby and James would put on one of the best races in recent memory, swapping the lead numerous times throughout the event. Brent Sweet, Bertus De Jong, Austin LaPlante and Johnny Williams also took turns leading laps.

The race saw 30 lead changes between 5 drivers as well as 7 cautions for 25 laps. But nothing would prepare anyone for the final run to the checkered flag.

Mike Husby and Brent Sweet led the field down to the restart with 6 laps to go. Husby, Sweet and James would all duke it out for the victory, swapping the lead 2-3 times a lap. But on the final lap of the race going into turn three, Curtis James would make a last attempt at taking the lead. James would slide up into Husby off of turn 4, which sent both drivers sailing through the air. Husby ended up landing on top of Brent Sweet and slid across the start finish line in the lead on his roof.

Bertus De Jong finishes 2nd, Brent Sweet 3rd, Austin LaPlante 4th and Curtis James rounded out the top 5. Robert Hill (6th) and Johnny Williams (7th) rounded out the finishing order.

Next time the THL Truck Series hit the track was last night at the Irwindale Speedway. Stay tuned to find out what happened at Irwindale.

Engelmanas Wins Mountain Dew Southern 150!

Darlington, SC -- Last week the CASCOR SuperCup Series made its return to the track "Too Tough to Tame" Darlington Raceway. Jordan Robson was the defending race winner, but has not run a race in CASCOR this year and was nowhere to be found at the track on Monday night.

Husby Motorsports teammates Pete Engelmanas and Mike Husby took the top two spots in qualifying and led the field down to the green flag.

But the caution flew for the first time in turn two on lap 1 for a spin by Brent Sweet. The first restart of the night came on lap 5, but once again problems would bring the caution right back out again. This time for a multi-car accident that sent Mike Husby flipping over in turn one. All drivers involved, except for Mike Husby were able to continue on.

Five more cautions slowed the action throughout the remainder of the event, but once everything had settled down, the drivers were able to get a long 61 lap green flag run in, allowing for green flag pit stops to take place.

The last caution of the night flew on lap 87, when Curtis James got loose off of turn two. Which would set up a 20 lap run to the finish.

Pete Engelmanas and Andrew Hayes led the field back down to the green flag on lap 92. Engelmanas would hold on to win the Mountain Dew Southern 150. Julian Madore finishes 2nd once again, Andrew Hayes 3rd, Curtis James 4th and Bertus De Jong rounded out the top 5. Austin LaPlante finished 6th, Brent Sweet 7th, Brandon Wilkinson 8th and Mike Husby rounded out the finishing order in 9th.

Next time the SuperCup Series hit the track was at Texas Motor Speedway this past Monday. Stay tuned to see what happened in Texas!

Sweet Sneaks Out a Win @ Darlington

Darlington, SC -- The CASCOR THL Truck Series returned to Darlington International Raceway on April 17th, 2012. Darlington Raceway has been on the Truck Series schedule the first two seasons in the THL Truck Series. In the last two seasons there has not been a repeat winner in the THL Truck Series at Darlington, but would the trend continue? Or could Frankie Stickley become the first two time winner at the famed track?

Frankie Stickley started off the night strong winning his first ever THL Truck Series pole position and started alongside Mike Husby as they led the field down to the green flag.

Caution flew for the first of 7 times for a spinning Austin LaPlante in turn one. But the final restart of the night came with 6 laps to go, with Frankie Stickley and Brent Sweet led the field down to the restart.

As the green flag flew, Frankie Stickley wouldn't get the greatest restart, allowing Brent Sweet to take the lead in turn 1. But the final caution of the night came out with 5 laps to go for contact made by Curtis James and Will Goshen.

Brent Sweet and the rest of the leaders raced back to the caution flag as Frankie Stickley and Mike Husby came up just short of the lead.

Sweet would go on to win the race, his first of the 2012 season. Frankie Stickley finished a close 2nd, Mike Husby 3rd, Aaron Levin 4th and Bertus De Jong rounded out the top 5. Robert Hill tied his best finish of the season in 6th, Will Goshen 7th, Curtis James 8th, rookie Brandon Wilkinson 9th and Kyle Young rounded out the top 10.

Next time the THL Truck Series hits the track will be at the Gateway International Raceway. Stay tuned to find out what happened this past week at Gateway.

Husby Wins First Road Race @ Watkins Glen

Watkins Glen, NY -- The CASCOR SuperCup Series went road racing on April 16th, 2012. Last year the SuperCup Series raced at the Hutchinson Island Street Course, but this year the race was moved to Watkins Glen later in the season.

Mike Husby won the pole position and Julian Madore started alongside as they led the field down to the green flag.

The race was plagued by cautions with the final run to the finish coming with 5 laps to go.

Mike Husby led Johnny Williams, Julian Madore, Aaron Levin and Andrew Hayes the top 5, back to the green flag. Johnny Williams would make a move inside of Mike Husby in turn one to take the lead. Williams would hold on to the lead with 4 laps to go as the caution flew for the final time of the night.

Williams and the rest of the leaders raced back to the flag and the unthinkable happened. Williams would get loose in the up hill esses losing his momentum as Husby and Madore were able to get by Williams and duked it out for the win in the final corners.

Madore tried everything he could to get by Husby but once again became the bridesmaid. Husby held on to win his first ever road race in the SuperCup Series. Johnny Williams battled back to finish 2nd, Julian Madore went off track in the second to last corner and fell to 3rd, Pete Engelmanas came home 4th and David Damboise rounded out the top 5. Will Goshen brought his car home 6th in his first race back, Aaron Levin finished 7th, Andrew Hayes 8th, Ron Simo 9th and Robert Hill rounded out the top 10.

Next time the SuperCup Series hits the track will be at the Darlington Raceway. Stay tuned to see what happened.

Engelmanas Wins Exciting Race @ Michigan

Brooklyn, MI -- The CASCOR THL Truck Series rolled into the Michigan International Speedway on April 3rd, 2012. Last year this race was one of the most competitive races of the year. Would it match last years exciting race? Or is there anyway it could be better?

Kyle Young and Mike Husby made up the front row and led the field to the green flag. The race started off just as excitingly as it had last year, with Pete Engelmanas making it three wide for the lead in turn one lap 1 and made it stick, holding onto the lead off turn two.

Some of the best wheel to wheel action all season saw positions swap several times a lap and the lead changed nine times between 5 different drivers throughout the event.

Six cautions slowed the excitement for 18 laps, setting up a three lap race to the finish. Pete Engelmanas and Brent Sweet led the field to the restart. Engelmanas held on the final 3 laps as Brent Sweet and the rest of the field came up short trying to make something happen to win the race.

Engelmanas went on to win his 2nd race of the 2012 season. Brent Sweet finishes 2nd, Andrew Hayes 3rd, Kyle Young 4th and Mike Husby rounded out the top 5. Chris Swett finished 6th, Ben Althen 7th, Bertus De Jong 8th, Robert Hill 9th and Curtis James rounded out the field in the top 10.

After yet another exciting race at Michigan with the THL Truck Series the Series heads to the track that is "Too tough to Tame" Darlington Raceway in Darlington, South Carolina.

Stay tuned to find out what happened @ Darlington.

Riley Wins in Controversial Race @ Michigan

Brooklyn, MI -- The CASCOR SuperCup Series returned to action at the Michigan International Speedway on April 2nd, 2012. Wesley Hoag and Julian Madore made up the front row and led the field down to the green flag.

Madore took the lead in turn one, lap 1 before the caution flew for a spinning Robert Hill in turn 1. Two more cautions would fly with a long 49 lap green flag run in the middle of the race setup a thirteen lap shootout for the win to end the race.

Mike Husby and Wesley Hoag led the field back to the restart. Hoag got a good restart taking the lead in turn 1. Husby managed to take the lead back with 8 laps to go. But Hoag would take it back the next lap, Matt Riley would also attempt to take the lead in turn 1 that same lap but came up short.

Husby and Riley duked it out behind race leader Hoag but in doing so lost too much time to Hoag as Hoag won the race at the flag.

Afterwards some drivers protested the victory due to connection issues with the #38 car of Hoag, and as a result the win was given to Matt Riley for his first ever SuperCup Series win. Mike Husby finishes 2nd, Andrew Hayes 3rd, Julian Madore 4th and Wesley Hoag rounded out the top 5, being placed the last car on the lead lap. Bertus De Jong and Robert Hill rounded out the finishing order in 6th and 7th place respectively.

Next time the SuperCup Series hits the track will be at Watkins Glen International Raceway for the running of the Budweiser @ The Glen. Stay tuned to find out what happened @ The Glen.

James Wins First Race @ Talladega

Talladega, AL -- The CASCOR THL Truck Series made their return to Talladega Superspeedway on March 27th, 2012. Last season the THL Truck Series didn't make a stop at Talladega but in 2010 the race was won by Frankie Stickley who was not attending this years Coca-Cola 100. Guaranteeing a new winner this time around in the THL Truck Series at Talladega.

Mike Husby started on the pole again with Andrew Hayes starting alongside. Two early cautions slowed the pace of the race, but green flag racing once again finished out the race in usual Truck Series fashion.

There would only be one green flag pit stop that took place on lap 27 as most of the leaders came down pit road for a splash of gas. Pete Engelmanas won the race off pit road followed by Brent Sweet, Curtis James, Mike Husby and Andrew Hayes the top 5.

Engelmanas continued to lead the field until the white flag lap where Curtis James and Brent Sweet pushed by on the outside to take the lead. Engelmanas gave it one last shot going into the tri-oval as his lag sent Brent Sweet spinning.

James would come across the start finish line victorious capturing his first ever CASCOR win. Pete Engelmanas finishes 2nd, Mike Husby 3rd, Andrew Hayes 4th and Johnny Williams rounded out the top 5. Bertus De Jong came home 6th, Brent Sweet fell to 7th on the last lap, Robert Hill finished 8th and Austin LaPlante rounded out the finishing order in 9th.

Next time the Trucks hit the track will be at Michigan International Speedway. Last years race was one of the most competitive Truck Series races ever. Would it live up to the expectations of last year? Or would we see a little more tame race? Stay tuned to find out.
